This month a team of 10 cyclists from Rexel UK, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of electrical products, will be taking part in a 400 mile charity bike ride which will see them pedal from Bordeaux to Paris.

The charity challenge, which aims to raise £30,000 for the Electrical Industries Charity and MacMillan Cancer Support, will take place over four days meaning, in order to complete the course, each individual team member will need to cycle 100 miles each day.

The Rexel UK team comprises ten members, including Purchasing Director, Peter Elliott; Corporate Sales Director, Chris Gibson and Phil Wyatt; Regional Sales Director, North. The team will set off on September 12, before reaching the company’s global headquarters in Paris on September 15.

Speaking ahead of the charity challenge, Peter Elliott comments: “Cycling over 400 miles will be a real test of grit and determination. However being able to raise such a huge amount for two charities which carry out some incredible work will make all the training worthwhile.

“Our customer base, including the suppliers and manufacturers we work with have been incredibly responsive, already digging deep in order to support these two charities which are close to many people’s hearts, especially within the electrical industry.”

As part of the challenge, Rexel will also be supporting the cause by pledging to donate £2,000 if the team completes the challenge.
